The Penn State Alumni Association

What’s been happening:

I attended classes at the Brandywine Branch Campus, back around 1973. I organized a small pep band that played at basketball games and soccer games. I organized a chorus that included faculty, staff, and students. I dressed as the Nittany Lion, and traveled on the athletes' buses with the cheerleading squad. I have fond memories of President Vairo, Dean Linder, Dr. Jane Cooper, Nurse Penniwell, a couple of custodians, and a passel of energetic, articulate fellow students! I would love to hear from anyone who remembers me! My name then was Dory Piccard. While attending Penn State, I was pregnant with my first (and only) child. Carrie is now thirty-five years old, married, living in Delaware County - working, and raising her own family. Since leaving Penn State, I eventually earned degrees in English and in Special Education. I taught school for twenty-five years. I drove tractor-trailer in the summers, for fun - 18-wheelers and a 22-wheeler! Now I'm retired, living in Medford NJ, and involved with volunteer work, writing, language study, and traveling with my friend Don, in his Mooney plane.
